In this overview of employee benefits and recent developments in the field, participants will learn about the importance of employee benefits, the types of benefits available and which benefits are mandatory versus voluntary. In addition, guidelines will be presented that will help interpret accurately employee benefits and an explanation of benefit costs and employer contributions. There will be a detailed discussion of legal and compliance issues associated with employee benefits with a look at the Employee Retirement, Income and Security Act (ERISA) and the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The webinar will present information on employee rights in these specific areas. There will also be a discussion of cost management and how the cost of benefits impacts employee compensation.
