Overview

In the Western world, there are five inner drivers that are present in most people. Understanding the characteristics of these inner drivers helps a person to understand themselves better, experience less stress and be more successful both at work and in their private life.

This does not require a degree in psychology or therapy. All that is needed is a test and an understanding of the concept of inner drivers in order to be able to take beneficial measures.

With practice, you will also be able to recognize the inner drivers in other people and communicate more effectively. It is therefore a tool for self-management as well as for managing or coaching employees.

Why you should Attend

Transactional analysis recognizes 5 inner drivers:

  • Be perfect! Correspond to a person with a correctly fitting suit and punctuality;
  • Be pleasing! Corresponds to a person who is the good soul in the company
  • Make an effort! Corresponds to a person with constant worry lines on his forehead;
  • Be strong! Corresponds to a person who does not let his stress show;
  • Hurry up! Corresponds to a person who is constantly doing other tasks.

Basically, the inner drivers represent positive characteristics such as:

  • Accuracy and flawlessness (Be perfect!)
  • Friendliness and kindness (Be pleasing to others!)
  • Thoroughness and perseverance (Try hard!)
  • Strength and independence (Be strong!)
  • Speed and the ability to seize opportunities (Hurry up!)

The concept of inner drivers describes an exaggerated, occasionally inappropriate way of living out these characteristics. People with drivers can no longer choose whether they want to do something perfectly, for example, or whether they want to be friendly.

They are forced to do so by their driver.

Following them can cost time and energy. Not following them initially leads to bad feelings, such as not feeling good enough.

In a test you will find indications as to whether the expression of your inner drives is beneficial, possibly impaired or even potentially harmful to your health.

For all inner drivers, we will get to know the most striking signs, ways of thinking or expressions and also how we can dissolve these "commands" of the inner drivers.
