How you say something to a potential hire is almost as important as what you say. Your written and verbal communications are either responded to or ignored, based on what you say or write. Potential hires may not remember what you wrote or said but they will always remember how you made them feel.
The communication between you and a candidate should help develop rapport, trust, and a working relationship. This cannot be accomplished if the only way you communicate is by text or email. Often that is the way you are most comfortable communicating, but those messages can be easily deleted.

Technology should help you work more efficiently and save time, but your approach to communicating should be a combination of high-tech and high-touch.
