Overview

We will go over the most up to date employment laws. Additionally, we will be covering everything you need to know through the hiring process all the way through termination.

We will be going through job descriptions - including defining the job’s scope and nature of the work and documenting proper decision making and essential job functions. Employee classification is another area in which it's vital to properly classify someone as exempt or non-exempt and to make the determination prior to recruitment.

Employment applications can help you evaluate experience, skills, training and limitations and why it's important to be conscientious on gathering information about a potential job candidate. When you are recruiting employees and advertising to them, you must comply with anti-discrimination laws and preserve the at-will relationship. Interviewing candidates and how consistency is key.

We will learn the top 5 interviewing mistakes businesses make and how to make good selection practices throughout hiring.
We will go over policies and how to make consistent decisions with your employees.

We will also be covering layoffs and furloughs in the age of COVID-19 and how to handle them in a way to limit your chances of being sued.  We will also be covering wrongful termination lawsuits and developing a termination checklist.
