Caroline Hardwicke is the managing director of RD Connect Ltd and holds an MSc in Pharmaceutical Medicine (University of Surrey) and a Diploma in Clinical Neuroscience (University of Roehampton). She started her professional life in retail pharmacy and then as a clinical pharmacist in a teaching hospital after her pharmacy degree (University of Sydney), which led her into clinical research.
For around 30 years, she has implemented, conducted and closed out clinical trials and related activities for small to large pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies in the United Kingdom, France and around the world. These tasks were carried out from both an operational and a clinical science perspective in her early career and then as the clinical department structures evolved in the industry, she worked within one of these client teams at any specific time. Her roles have also spanned global programme management (pre-clinical and clinical activities), and individual study and regulatory medical writing tasks. She has performed extensive data review across a broad range of therapeutic areas at differing programme stages and worked with a variety of Key Opinion Leaders and interacted with regulatory agencies on some of these projects.
She engages with companies of varying size to assist with project or programme set-up and conduct and also staff resourcing for trials.
